This is done under authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1: Only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
This is not a request for competitive quotes.
Market research revealed that Midwest Special Instruments Corp is the sole source factory trained representative for the sale and installation of Interacoustics and Micromedical by Interacoustics product portfolios and all related calibration, and service within the state of Minnesota. The Interacoustics brand of Binocular Video Goggles is the only equipment fully compatible with the already installed Vestibular Testing System in use at the St. Cloud VA.
Thus, it is impossible for any other company to provide this product as Midwest Special Instruments Corp has a letter of authorization from Interacoustics stating they are the sole source factory trained representatives in the state of Minnesota and does not allow for authorized resellers, authorized dealers, or third party maintenance vendors to provide such services. Any other entity besides Midwest Special Instruments Corp providing this service would result in violation of these proprietary rights and voiding of any equipment warranties, as applicable.
