Tenders are invited for Videographers.

For 70 years, UNICEF has been working on the ground in 190 countries and territories to promote children`s survival, protection and development. The world`s largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments.

Purpose of the Assignment

The overall objective of setting up this Long-Term Arrangement is to facilitate and expedite the process by which UNICEF in Guyana will hire the services of professional videographers / video editors to document UNICEF-s work and programmes across the country.

Assignment Tasks

§ Create, edit and package video products.
§ Review footage and make suggestions on the use of footage.
§ Ensure insertion of relevant UNICEF or partner branding where required.
§ Attend pre-production briefing on issues being covered and participate in preparatory research and production planning.
§ Assemble recorded raw material into a finished product that is suitable for broadcasting.
§ Create a `rough cut` (or assembly edit) of the programme/film and determine the exact cutting for the next and final stages;
§ Oversee the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing;
§ Experiment with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements;
§ Document UNICEF programmes, keeping in mind culture, gender and other diverse sensitivities as per UNICEF guidelines. Videos should be usable for diverse audiences and have universal appeal.
§ Work in close coordination with the assignment supervisor and / or communication and programme focal points
§ Demonstrate a client-oriented approach, tact and ability to work with people of different cultural backgrounds;
§ Ensure effective and efficient provision of services, full confidentiality in all aspects of the assignment, management of information flow and follow-up on deadlines and commitments made;
§ Ensure dignity of subjects, particularly in the context of children and vulnerable groups;
§ Ensure consent forms are signed by children and / or guardians as per UNICEF guidelines.
Videographers may be required to work on Saturdays and Sundays, based on the requirements of the assignment.

Expected deliverables

• At the end of each assignment, the consultant will deliver edited video in HDV format
• Selection of the best shots and interviews for each of the packages with `shot-list`.
• Pre-production note for the film (where required)
• Shot list (in case of human interest stories)
• B-Roll - containing a selection of the best shots and interviews for each of the packages (in the case of editing large amounts of footage)

UNICEF retains copyright over all images shot during the course of an assignment. The consultant may be required to travel to remote, hard-to-reach areas to capture required images.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

§ Minimum of three years of professional video and audio editing experience;
§ Skilled in the following industry tools: (Avid Media Composer, Light works, Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools);
§ Experience in digitizing and video streaming for the web and other multimedia services;
§ Ability to operate video production, archiving, and editing equipment;
§ Access to the minimum required professional equipment to perform the work required;
§ Ability to edit materials from a culturally sensitive perspective;
§ Willingness to work in a professional manner, including observance of UNICEF guidelines for ethical reporting on children;
§ Professional work ethic, integrity, and initiative;
§ Knowledge of international development issues an asset;
§ Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity etc.;
§ Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing;
§ Creative mind and storytelling skills an asset;
§ Professional certificates an asset
