Vibroacoustic Therapy Chair Recreation Therapy
Bay Pines VA Healthcare System
1. Purpose
The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to procure one (1) vibroacoustic therapy chair to support Recreation and Music Therapy services at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System. The equipment will be used with both residential and outpatient Veterans for pain management, anxiety reduction, trauma recovery support, and mindfulness training.
2. Background
Recreation and Music Therapy clinicians at Bay Pines VA currently utilize vibroacoustic equipment that is over 15 years old and shows significant signs of wear (fabric deterioration, declining speaker function, sanitation challenges). The original manufacturer (Somatron) is no longer in business, making direct replacement impossible.
