The American University of Beirut (AL'B) hereby solicits your offer for Veterinary Services. The Service Provider shall work closely with the Environmental Health, Safely and Risk Management team.
General cat wcllbein*: and surveillance:
• The vcl and his/her icam should conduct weekly rounds on campus to observe cats and rescue any sick or injured cats. This can be done as one round per week or smaller rounds in different campus areas every day.
• The vet and his/her team should be accessible to the Al;B community and to volunteers from SETA Student Club by devising a working mechanism to respond to calls from the AL'B community about sick and injured cats or abandoned kittens.
• The vet and his/her team should be available to on call even on weekends and after hours to accept sick cats or remove cats from buildings or unsafe locations on campus.
• The vet should attend to monthly meetings at Ab'B to discuss progress and should provide a monthly report detailing all the activities conducted during the previous month.
• The vet and his team should conduct a monthly cat population survey.
Feeding responsibilities:
• The vet and his/her team should dedicate 1-2 hours per day to provide feeding in assigned feeding stations and should fill the feeding tubes with dry food and feed vulnerable cats wet food. Dry and wet food supply is not within his responsibilities.
• It is the responsibility of the vet and his/her team to also ensure that the tubes arc clean and in good repair.
TNR responsibilities:
• The vcl and his'her team should catch, spay/neuter a minimum of 10 cats per month (8 females and 2 males).
• Boarding and post-operative care for these cats are the responsibility of the vcl and his/her team. Therefore, up to 20 nights of boarding are expected (2 nights per cat to ensure fasting for one night and recovery for another nighl).
Hospitalization:
• The vet and his/her team are in charge of treating sick cats including medical and surgical procedures. This includes up to three tooth surgeries per month. The expected load of can requiring hospitalizat ion is three at a lime on average.
• Hospitalization and boarding of sick cats and cats for TNR should be done at the vet clinic
