For the performance of primary tasks such as waste collection, city cleaning, landscaping, enforcement and sports field maintenance, as well as business transport movements of employees, the municipality uses more than 1, 000 vehicles. These vehicles are shared by a changing group ofMore than 6, 000 employees and jointly travel more than 10 million kilometers annually. To be able to effectively manage the fleet of the municipality, there is a need for a detailed insight into the status and use of each vehicle and reliable access management. To be able to comply with legalobligations and to promote efficiency and sustainability, the municipality uses vehicle telematics. This technology combines hardware in vehicles with telecommunications (such as 4G/5G, GPS and Bluetooth), analysis software (SaaS) and personal devices (such as apps or tags). With thisVehicles are read and analyzed remotely, and access to vehicles can be effectively managed. Due to the use of vehicle telematics, real -time and remotely a multitude of vehicle data can be accessed to the fleet managers. That data can be used to be able toSteering on deployment of vehicles (occupancy rate), maintenance, fuel consumption and the like and that legal requirements of registration and monitoring can be met.
