The national aeronautics and space administration (nasa), john f. Kennedy space center (ksc) is hereby soliciting information about potential sources to perform vegetation clearing at five locations at ksc. This includes the area between the ksc news center and launch complexes, 39b, 40 and 41; the area between the kennedy uplink system antenna and the shuttle landing facility runway; and the area around the booster fabrication facility. The natural area clearing method will be used. This method involves roller-chopping scrub brush, removing hand selected trees, and otherwise leaving much of the natural vegetation in place but at lower heights. Specific heights will be specified in the sow. The area to be serviced includes approximately 550 acres of mixed land clearing and 120 acres of mangroves that require trimming. Mixed land includes, but is not limited to: wetlands, brazilian pepper trees, oak scrubs, forest, and hardwood hammocks.
Nasa/ksc is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, including small, small disadvantaged (sdb), 8(a), woman-owned (wosb), veteran owned (vosb), service disabled veteran owned (sd-vosb), historically underutilized business zone (hubzone) businesses, and historically black colleges and universities (hbcu)/minority institutions (mi) for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small business subcontracting goals for this acquisition. The government reserves the right to consider a small, 8(a), woman-owned (wosb), service disabled veteran (sd-vosb), or hubzone business set-aside based on responses hereto. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in fedbizopps and on the nasa acquisition internet service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis.
