Description: the Rfp is an Invitation to Submit Offers for the Supply and Install of a Bulk Storage Server and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. the Requested Infrastructure will be Located in Robarts Research Institute to Support the Following World-Class Research Facilities: I) the Facility for Microvascular Imaging and Live Tissue Analytics the Acquisition, Visualization, and Analysis of Dynamic Images is Computationally Intensive and Requires Dedicated Computer Infrastructure, Including Secure Data Storage. Ii) Minimally-Invasive Surgery and Therapy Image-Guided Surgery is Highly Image-Based and Data Intensive. a Robust Image and Data Infrastructure Must be Provided to Support These Activities. This Request is for Equipment that will Build on Infrastructure that Was Installed up to 8 Years Ago and is Now Nearing Capacity. a 1 Pb Raw Storage Server is Requested. Specifically, the Server Should be an Enclosure Capable of Containing Multiple Mechanical and / or Solid-State Drives Connected over an Ethernet Network. the On-Site Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Vdi) Solution will Support 50 Users. We Also Require Support for Graphics Processing / Gpu Programming. Redundant Hardware Should be in Place to Prevent Single Point Failures. Users will Range from Standard Low-Level to High End Parallel and Gpu Programming Workloads; Therefore, Each Host Should Include Ssd Space for the Operating Systems and 16 Gb Per User of Ram. Llicensing Costs Should be Included in the Packaging. Due to Existing Infrastructure, the Connectivity Should be Handled by Iscsi Interface.
