This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (rfq), for a firm fixed price contract. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the current federal acquisitions circular.
The region currently has a need for up to two aerial surveyors for the 2017 survey season with specialized expertise in western forest pests, forest types, gps and gis technology as well as aviation experience from as early as june 19 to as late as november 17, 2017.
Survey staff utilize government provided specialized mapping equipment to conduct these surveys and prior experience with performing aerial survey work is preferred.
Aerial detection surveys (ads) have been conducted annually since 1994 in california. The program typically consists of three (3) full-time employees who conduct aerial surveys from july through september, to map forest disturbances throughout forested areas. The survey staff utilize government owned or contracted aircraft (typically light, fixed-wing aircraft) and specialized mapping equipment to conduct these surveys. This effort is part of a national program to map forest disturbance and pest outbreaks across the united states.
