United States Air Force Academy anticipates a requirement that is being considered under a small business set-aside program. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed is 334516. The size standard for NAICS is 1, 000 Employees.
The requirement is to provide: 2x Generation III Extended Blue Image Intensifiers that will help perform basic research on dim electrical discharges and continue a decade of research using high speed, low light level cameras. These image intensifiers will support Physics 499 and 490 classes as well as Meteo 499, and support cadet capstone and independent study courses.

The necessary salient characteristics are listed below:
2x Generation III Extended Blue Image Intensifiers with response between 350 nm - 900 nm. Lens side of the intensifier must accept c mount lenses. Camera side of the image intensifier must accept Nikon F mount (to account for compatibility with current high-speed cameras). Image Intensifiers must use standard US 110V, 60 cycle power. Image Intensifiers must have adjustable gain control. Image Intensifiers much have high voltage gating from 60 nsec to 1 msec and gating repetition of at least 300, 000 per second.
