The object of the direct procurement is 13508 Urological supplies for the YTA region of Northern Finland; For the welfare regions of North Ostrobothnia, Central Ostrobothnia, Lapland and Kainuu. The procurement period begins when the procurement becomes legally binding and ends when the contracts of the new tender are concluded enter into force, however no later than September 1, 2026. Contracts for urological supplies that ended on January 31, 2026 will be continued with direct purchase. The agreements have been drawn up between the hospital district of North Ostrobothnia and the selected suppliers to cover of the OYS-ERVA area. The contracts have been transferred to the welfare region of North Ostrobothnia on 1 January 2023. The basis for direct procurement is that the conclusion of the contract is absolutely necessary and the set deadlines cannot be met from a person independent of the procurement unit, due to extreme urgency caused by an unforeseeable reason (procurement act § 40 subsection 2 point 4). Procurement is necessary from a patient safety point of view, and direct procurement is needed to cover the time needed to prepare a new tender. It is not possible to complete the competition in an accelerated manner due to consideration of patient care reasons. Validity of the contract: 1.2. - 31 August 2026 or until the new procurement decision is legally binding.
