Upskilling Healthcare Professionals in Pharmacogenomics The Department of Health (DOH) in Abu Dhabi is strategically prioritizing the advancement of genomics and precision medicine through pharmacogenomics testing and analysis, aimed at enhancing the health and wellbeing of the population. Pharmacogenomics entails studying how genetic variations influence responses to medications within the local population, merging the disciplines of clinical pharmacology and genomics to optimize treatment outcomes and mitigate adverse effects. The objective of pharmacogenomics is to integrate genomic information into medication prescribing strategies. The incorporation of pharmacogenomics into healthcare practices in the UAE mirrors a global shift towards personalized and precise medical interventions. By comprehending the genetic composition of our community, we can better anticipate, prevent, and manage genetic and chronic diseases. Objective Provide a certificate in pharmacogenomics for 40 participants from healthcare professionals through a 6 - 16-week course the primary objective is to enable the implementation of clinical pharmacogenomics by enhancing the participants understanding and proficiency in this specialized field.
