The Jean Canfield GOCB currently houses a solar energy array on its roof, comprising a 100 kW system with 539 panels connected to a 600V 3-phase grid-tied inverter. However, the system has shown signs of inefficiency and deterioration over time, prompting the need for an upgrade to newer and more efficient technology. Carry out a comprehensive study to assess the existing system, research advanced solar technology suitable for the Canadian climate considering initial costs, energy savings, dealing with birds' nesting and maintenance requirements, and conduct a cost-benefit analysis to determine the best value proposition. Each option shall be presented with a class D estimate. This project aims to enhance the GOCB's environmental sustainability, reduce energy costs, and demonstrate leadership in renewable energy innovation.
