Tenders are invited for Upgrading the Road from Pinole Line - North of Guacamallo Bridge, a Distance of Approximately 23.02 Km.

UPGRADING OF CARACOL ROAD PROJECT - LOT 2
PROCUREMENT NOTICE
The Government of Belize (GOB) has received financing from Kuwait Fund For Arab Economic Development (herein referred to as KFAED), and the OPEC Fund for International Development (herein referred to as OFID), towards the cost of the Upgrading of Caracol Road Project, and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payments under the contract for which this Notice is issued. The Project consists of Lot 2 (Sections A and B and C).
Provided all phases of this process suffer no delays, construction is expected to start in the month of November 2020.
The Ministry of Works hereby invites interested contractors in the civil works to be part of this bidding process. The Project is being implemented by the Ministry of Works (MOW), Project Execution Unit (PEU). A Project Coordinator within the PEU will be responsible for the day-to-day management of project activities. Engineering Consultants will be retained by MOW to assist with the implementation.
The Scope of Works (3 civil works contracts) refers to:
x Major Earthworks
x Drainage
x Pavement & Surfacing
x Bridge Construction
x Roadmarking, Furniture & Miscellaneous Works
Consideration will be given to local and international firms or joint ventures of firms, who have qualified extensive experience in bridge and road construction of a similar size and complexity.
Effective 4 September 2020, Bidding Documents are available at a cost of Bz$1, 500.00 for Lot 2(A) from the Project Execution Unit (PEU), Ministry of Works,

can bid on one or more Sections)

All Bidding Documents properly completed in sealed envelopes, should reach the office of the Project Execution Unit, Ministry of Works, Power Lane, Belmopan on 9 October 2020 at 2:00 pm. Electronic bidding will not be permitted.
Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened publicly in the presence of the bidders on 9 October 2020 at 4:00pm. The Ministry shall not be bound to assign any reason for not post-qualifying any contractor and shall not accept responsibility for any cost incurred by the applicants.
