The United Water Supply Company of Georgia LLC (UWSCG, hereafter referred to as the Employer) has received funds from the Agence Française de Développement ("AFD") and the European Union (EU) toward the costs of the Khashuri Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the funds to payments under the contract for UWSCG-IPC-CW-Lot 1: Upgrade of water supply and sewerage systems in Khashuri.
The Employer intends to prequalify firms for the following initial scope of Works to be implemented under the contract:
1. Examination of UWSCG available data with sewers breaks recordings, detailed survey of the existing sewers including a topographic survey, cleaning and CCTV inspection. The examination shall reveal the poorest sections for the replacement. The scope of the sewers CCTV inspections and cleaning shall be agreed with the Engineer and the Employer;
2. The new sewer collection system has been designed by the engineering company CBMC. The contractor-s task is to elaborate (i) a digital hydraulic model and (ii) a detailed design of the whole sewerage system, considering the combination of the CBMC design with existing sewers (wherever appropriate as revealed by the initial survey - see item 1). The combined design shall also consider connection with the network of the neighbouring Surami city and the areas where the design has not been done yet within the city and in adjacent settlements such as Zemo Osiauri & Tshramukha.
3. Updating the design of the water supply and distribution pipelines system prepared by CBMC
4. Complex shop drawings with detailed location of the pipelines and salient crossings: main roads, water courses, railways.
5. Following constraints of available budget, in conjunction with the Engineer and the Employer, selection of sections / areas for the complex construction of the water distribution pipelines together with sewers.
6. Preparation of any/every plans, schedules, and reports, in particular (but not limited to): demolition schedule/plan, update of Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) and Due Diligence Report (DDR), Site Waste Management Plan, Site Dust Management Plan, Site Surface Water Management Plan (if applicable), Site Excavated Material Management Plan, Site Biodiversity Management Plan, Traffic Management Plan, Health and Safety Management Plan and Community Health and Safety plan.
7. Construction of selected pipeline sections (water & sewers) with associated objects. The approximate scope shall contain:
a. approximately 185 km HDPE of new water distribution pipelines with associated DMA chambers, house connections with water meters (some 8100 pcs), and isolation valves, and other structures as identified during surveys and design. The network shall be divided into 8 District Metering Areas
b. Rehabilitation/replacement of existing sewers. Exact scope shall be identified/defined during surveys and the design.
c. Extension of Khashuri sewerage system with new sewers made of HDPE or PP corrugated pipelines with associated inspection & junction chambers, with some 2-5 local pumping stations, and house connections. Exact scope shall be identified / defined during surveys and design.
8. Decommissioning of the old water supply system, and possibly sections of the old sewer system
9. Roads reinstatement
10. Pipes commissioning
11. As-build drawings in CAD format and a GIS database acceptable by the Employer.

It is expected that invitations for bid will be sent in March 2021.
Implementation Period
The overall contract implementation period shall be 12 + 42 months, including the following phases:
(i) additional surveys (including CCTV inspections of existing sewers), design, approvals & obtainment of construction permits phase - duration shall be 12 months;
(ii) construction and commissioning phase - duration shall be 30 months;
(iii) defect liability period - duration shall be 12 months;
