The GIZ office Sana-a would like to invite specialized, eligible, well-experienced, economic consulting service Institutions, to express their interest in the tender of:

Economic Value Chain Studies for GIZ Office

GIZ is particularly interested in identifying competitive sources that can offer a complete and very high-quality economic studies.

GIZ is inviting qualified, national economic consulting service providers to bid for two value chains studies in the fields of solar energy and IT service in Sana-a and Aden for the Private Sector and Employment Project PSEP Yemen.

1. Application:

Interested Service Providers are requested to send a letter of interest along with the required documents listed

in clause 2 to the e-mail: procurement.yemen@giz.de

Latest date for sending the letter with required documents to the e-mail above is 29.11.2019

2. Required documents:

Service Providers not fulfilling the following requirements will be excluded:

· At least 5 years of experience in value chain, sub sector analysis, with good understanding of private sector including market dynamics to make the study sufficiently private sector oriented.

· Experience in working with various international and local organizations and institutions.

· The consultancy service providers should have professional staff and technical experts in fields of the two value chains mentioned above and on market research in general.

· Working experience in crisis context and in organizing focused group discussions and consultations meetings.

· Has valid legal documents (tax card, commercial registration, etc.…).

· Is authorised, licensed and registered in Yemen as a consultancy service provider.

· Provide the company-s profile, including their previous experience in conducting similar studies.

· Indicating readiness to provide any further documents / guarantees that might be needed later.

Team Composition and Roles & Responsibilities:

The consultancy service provider should provide details of the team composition and their roles and responsibilities.

Qualifications of Key Personnel:

Provide the names and qualifications of the key personnel who will perform the services.

Provide the Name and the qualifications of the team leader who should meet the following criteria:

· Masters- degree in development, social study, International Development, Development Economics/Planning, Economics, International Relations or any other relevant university degree;

· A minimum experience of 5 years of proven experience at national or international level in economic empowerment, and capacity building, market assessment aspects in crisis Settings.

· Good computer skills in word, excel and PowerPoint applications.

· Good facilitation, training, analytical, comprehension and writing skills.

· Excellent command of English and Arabic.

3. Important Notes:

o Only service providers fulfilling the requirements listed above will be considered in the further tendering process.

o This invitation does not amount to commitment on the part of GIZ, neither financially nor otherwise.

o According to requirements (see part 2 above) GIZ reserves the right to accept or reject any or all expressions of interest or cancel the process without any obligation to inform the affected interested applicants reasoning for acceptance, rejection or cancellation.
