Within the Linac@LNK project, a renovated medical linear accelerator (LINAC) is installed in the laboratory for nuclear calibrations (LNK) building at SCK CEN. The project focuses, among other things, on the physical-chemical characterization of conditioned radioactive waste vessels, a crucialStep to see if the barrels meet the conformity criteria for the newly approved above -ground storage facility for category A waste. As part of the Linac@LNK project, SCK CEN will perform measurements on 400L conditioned waste vessels using a turning system for theHandling barrels, together with an imaging detector with a wide energy range (up to 18 mv). Points for attention for this system are continuous rotation, As well as the possibility of turning in steps and being able to move the barrels vertically, since the center of the Beam (Linac) has a fixed position at about 1m30.
