Edenderry power is a 120mwe power plant with bubbling fluidised bed (bfb) boiler that co-fires peat & biomass. Bord na móna will be carrying out a major overhaul of the turbine and generator plant in the summer of 2019. The works will be the complete stripping down of the turbine and generator, ndt testing of major parts and components, ultrasonic testing of rings, dye pen inspection of blades, boroscopes, pressure tests, wedge tightness testing, water leak detection, cleaning throughout with a complete report of the overhaul works including life span estimation, recommendations for future works, and critical parts to be carried in stock.
