TRUTHS (Traceable Radiometry Underpinning Terrestrial- and Helio- Studies) is an Operational Climate mission, aiming to enhance by an order-of-magnitude our ability to estimate the Earth radiation budget through direct measurements, and at the same time a Calibration Service mission which establishes a metrology laboratory in space' to create a fiducial (International System of units - SI traceable) reference data set to cross-calibrate other satellite/optical sensors and improve the quality of their data. The TRUTHS mission comprises a single satellite, hosting an innovative payload able to spectrally and spatially resolve Earth and solar radiance from UV to Short-Wave infrared wavelength with unprecedented radiometric accuracy. The TRUTHS Ground Segment (GS) will consist of a TRUTHS Flight Operations Segment (T-FOS) and a TRUTHS Payload Data Ground Segment (T-PDGS), to be developed by the selected Contractor and to be then located in a facility/ facilities to be made available by the UK on its territory. The T-FOS comprises among othersthe Mission Control System, the Flight Dynamics System, and the interface to the ground stations and to the T-PDGS. The T-PDGS is entrusted to generate the TRUTHS mission products up to level 2 and will also include modules to evaluate the metrological accuracy
