This Request for Proposals (the "RFP") is an invitation by Ornge to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Trucks and Truck Bed Pods as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the "Deliverables").The primary goal is to establish a First Response Team for First Nations communities that currently lack emergency response capabilities. This initiative aims to enhance access to emergency care, particularly in communities that are remote and far from paramedic services. It's important to note that these vehicles are not considered ambulances, which means the operator will only require a Class G driver's license. Part of this larger project is to equip trucks with the ability to transport patients. To accomplish this, truck bed pods will be installed.Ornge is looking to procure trucks and truck bed pods. Find below requirements for both units. In the current scope of the project, Ornge is estimated to require over 40 truck/pod units to complete the entire scope. These requirements will be taken over several years, in line with multiple stages of the project. The first delivery is expected to be 13 truck/pod units, to be ready in February-March 2026. Delivery details for the remainder of the trucks will be coordinated with the proponent later in 2026 and in subsequent years and contracted separately.
