This infrastructure represents a critical community asset valued at approximately $2.8 billion, requiring sophisticated management approaches to ensure ongoing service delivery within sustainable budget parameters.Our current road condition assessment processes have served the community well but are increasingly challenged by the scale and complexity of modern asset management requirements. Traditional visual inspections, while thorough, are labour-intensive and subject to variability between different Road Inspectors. The time lag between defect occurrence and formal identification often results in more costly reactive maintenance rather than planned preventive interventions.The introduction of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Vision Solution for Road Asset Management represents a strategic evolution in our asset management approach, aligning with Council's commitment to leveraging technology for improved community outcomes.
