Detailed_Description : The 2026 Transportation Tomorrow Survey (TTS) is a travel survey that aims to collect comprehensive data about weekday trip activity by households living the Greater Golden Horseshoe Area. The coverage for this project is the same as the 2022 TTS. The Ministry of Transportation (MTO), on behalf of the TTS partner agencies, aims to procure a Vendor who will design and conduct the survey and produce a final dataset and analysis that meets the needs of transportation planners across the region.
Scope of Work : The 2026 TTS is intended to capture current travel behavior and trends and to continue the TTS legacy of providing essential data for modeling and planning decisions. Key objectives include:•Maintaining consistency with all TTS Survey cycles from 1986-2022 to allow for trend analysis and comparability over time, while upholding the survey-s longstanding methodological rigor and data definitions.•Achieving a representative sample of household travel patterns across the region including the use of inclusive methodologies to reach historically underrepresented populations (e.g. younger households, newcomers, low-income, rural communities and multi-family households), ensuring comprehensive demographic and geographic coverage.•Incorporating innovations to modernize TTS, the 2026 TTS will consider and incorporate a comprehensive set of innovations arising from the recent TTS Modernization Initiative to improve data quality, representativeness, and cost-effectiveness.•Include a comprehensive public communications and outreach campaign to build public trust, raise awareness, and support participation. This includes clear branding, multi-channel outreach, and coordination with partner agencies.Ensure operational efficiency and minimize time between data collection and delivery of final results, to meet planning and decision-making needs in a timely manner.
