We Generate and Provide Electricity to 95 Percent of British Columbia\'S Population and Serve over Four Million People. the System Includes 35 Hydroelectric Facilities, 300 Substations and over 79, 000 Kilometers of Transmission and Distribution Lines. the Electricity Generated and Transmitted to Our Customers Throughout the Province Has Consistently Powered B.C.\'S Economy and Quality of Life. Bc Hydro Has Recently Undertaken an Assessment of Our Needs with Respect to over the Road Transportation Services and We Are Excited to Share Our New Strategic Approach with Interested Parties. Transportation Services Suppliers Play an Important Role in Bc Hydro Achieving Its Long Term Strategic Objectives. As a Result, Bc Hydro\'S Go Forward Strategy Includes a Contracting Model that is Designed to Foster Long Term, Collaborative Relationships with Suppliers that have the Resources and Equipment We Need at the Right Place, at the Right Time. Bc Hydro Has a Hub-And-Spoke Distribution Model to Move Equipment and Materials from Surrey to Distribution Centers and Project Sites Across the Province. This Drives the Need for Two Types of Transportation Services: - Full Truck Load (Ftl) - a Complete, Dedicated Transportation Service - Less Than Truckload (Ltl) - a Non-Dedicated Transportation Service to Prepare the Supplier Community for This Upcoming Procurement Opportunity, Bc Hydro will be Hosting an Informational Conference Call on Thursday January 31, 2019 from 2:30 P.M. - 3:30 P.M.
