Three Runway System Project Contract 3405 Third Runway Concourse Foundation and Substructure Works (Contract 3405)
Description : The Airport Authority Hong Kong (the "Authority") is undertaking to expand the existing two runway system at Hong Kong International Airport into a three runway system (3RS). This will include among other things the provision of a new third runway concourse (TRC) that will be built on the new platform being reclaimed from sea as shown in the attached plan.The TRC being a terminal for departures, arrivals and transfer passengers is a very substantial and complex multi-functional building facility with deep foundations and underground structures. A separate foundation and substructure works contract (this Contract) will be procured ahead of the main building works to allow early construction start for the TRC.This Contract comprises major and complex geotechnical, civil and structural engineering works with more than 800 piles, the TRC basement structure (approximately 1, 000m long x 90m wide x 13m deep) up to apron level, tunnel structures under the TRC for the Automated People Mover and Baggage Handling System, major underground utilities and extensive earthwork and temporary works associated with deep basement and underground structures. The duration of this Contract is over two years. The conditions for participation, tender programme, tenderer selection criteria, and other pertinent details are detailed in the Prequalification Invitation Document.The Authority invites expressions of interest from organisations with PROVEN EXPERIENCE and the CAPABILITY to manage and construct the above works. Suitable contractors should be experienced in major piling and civil engineering projects and will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience and ability in managing and implementing similar works.Applicants who wish to express their interest in prequalifying to tender for the above contract should forward their name and address, together with the name, position and fax number of their contact person to Mr. Kevin Poole, Executive Director, Third Runway by e-mail to [email protected] deadline for completing and delivering the Prequalification Submission to the Authority s Tender Box at the lower ground floor lobby of HKIA Tower will be on Tuesday, 19 March 2019 at 16:30 (Hong Kong time).The Authority will evaluate all applications using the information to be provided by the applicant in the completed Prequalification Submission and select the successful applicants at its sole discretion.All costs associated with any submission in response to this notice shall be entirely the responsibility of the applicant.The procurement of the above Works is covered by the Agreement on Government Procurement of the World Trade Organisation.
