Description : The Airport Authority (the “Authority”) is undertaking to expand the existing two runway system at Hong Kong International Airport into a three runway system (3RS).To support the construction of airfield pavements for the Third Runway Concourse Apron and North Runway Modification Works (the Pavement works), the Authority intends to issue a licence under Contract 3913 (the Contract) for a suitably qualified party to take over and recommission the existing asphalt batching facilities (the Facility) including obtaining all associated statutory approvals, permits, licences and the like, operate and maintain the Facility to supply asphalt products to the Authority and its contractors and construct the Pavement Works with asphalt products from the Facility. The estimated volume of asphalt required for the Pavement Works is over 200, 000 m3 (compacted volume as constructed in the permanent works). The duration of the licence will be approximately 2 years up to the construction completion of the 3RS Project in 2024.
