The government, portsmouth naval shipyard, has a requirement for 3 ea "brand name mandatory" thermex-thermatron (model f15-30) heater sealers. The requirement is "brand name mandatory" because the shipyard has 6 otehr thermex thermatron heat sealers and has developed thermex thermatron specific tooling, equipment modification to support current shipyard work processes. In addition to the need for tooling compatibility, the shipyard desires to maintain configuration control as maintenance personnel are very famililar with thermex thermatron heat sealer preventive maintenance requirements and have a small inventory of spare parts to support these heat sealers. These heat sealers are very reliable and maintainable...important criteria for a shipyard production factility.

At this point the government is posting a sources sought as a part of its market research to determine what manufacturers / dealers exist which have the ability and the interest to meet the government requirement.
