Tender Details

The object of the contract is the technical assistance that will support the works whose objective is to identify and characterize the river sections with free flow in the internal basins of Catalonia (Cic), to establish a prioritization of sections to guide Actions to restore and improve river connectivity, and develop a decision-making support tool that allows visualization, analysis and simulation of restoration scenarios, including the calculation of the length of connected river associated with Each Potential Action. The Reasons That Make This Contract Necessary Are Those Set Out in the Justifying Report Contained in the File. These works are part of the EU Strategy on Biodiversity 2030, Approved in 2020, Which It sets as an objective that 25, 000 km of rivers in the European Union will be free of barriers before 2030. The main instrument to achieve this is the new regulation on the restoration of nature, approved in June 2024. According to this regulation, the Member States Must Present, Within Two Years, National Restoration Plans. Among the indicators to be reported is the length of the so-called "Free Flowing Rivers".
