The committee must base its assessments on existing knowledge and obtain new knowledge where this is necessary. The committee needs a better knowledge base about: 1. the long-term significance of the education support schemes for social equalization in Norwegian society 2. the effects on the settlement of the schemes with cancellation of student debt in the action zone in Nord-Troms and Finnmark 3. the effects of cancellation of student debt for teachers on recruitment to teacher education and any twists in relation to other educations, e.g. kindergarten teacher training.
