PROJECT DESCRIPTION Design and construction of the Kommati mountain biking and outdoor trail complex between Poikkijoki-Kuolpuvaara-Kommattivaara. PROCUREMENT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The municipality of Sodankylä has received a positive funding decision from the Federation of Lapland To the JTF-funded Better paths, stronger attraction - Sodankylä route investment project. The project belongs to action line 7 (Finland of a just transition) of the Renewing and competent Finland 2021-2027 program and implements special goal 7.1 A regionally fair transition of giving up peat. The goal of the project is to improve outdoor recreation and exercise opportunities for the residents and tourists of Sodankylä and to implement high-quality, safe and accessible local routes. The area of the comma the route complex directs traffic to the marked grooves, reduces the wear and tear of the terrain and supports the consideration of natural diversity. SCOPE OF ROUTE ALIGNMENTS AND CONSTRUCTION MEASURES The implementation of the route complex in the Kommat area is based on route sections of different levels. Existing roads suitable for cycling and fitness paths will be used for a distance of about 6 kilometers, for which route signs will be implemented. Erosion-sensitive sections that require repair will be improved over an extent of approximately 1.2-1.5 kilometers, especially in Pörsiölammi and At parts of the marsh area of Kommattilammi, where the repair measures include drainage solutions and strengthening of surface structures.
