Description
TECHNOLOGY LICENSING OPPORTUNITY
Revolutionary EM-Based Detection for Control Logic Injection Attacks in Noisy Environments
Groundbreaking electromagnetic detection tech identifies control logic injection attacks in noisy environments with 90% accuracy.
Opportunity: Idaho National Laboratory (INL), managed and operated by Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC (BEA), offers to explore a license and/or collaborative research agreement to commercialize this control logic injection attack detection technology. This technology transfer opportunity is part of a dedicated effort to convert government-funded research into job opportunities, businesses, and, ultimately, an improved way of life for the American people.
Overview: Industrial Control Systems (ICS) are essential for maintaining stability in critical infrastructure but are vulnerable to cyber-attacks due to the challenges of applying traditional security mechanisms. Our technology is designed to address these challenges by detecting anomalous behavior using electromagnetic (EM) emanations, even in noisy environments.
Description: Our EM-based detection technology can detect minimal code-injection attacks with above 90% accuracy, regardless of environmental noise. We utilize a high sampling rate and singular value decomposition (SVD)-based noise elimination methods to achieve near-perfect levels of accuracy for detecting attacks, even in sub-0 dB environments. Our approach emphasizes the identification of minute modifications in control logic, helping to maintain full awareness and enable surgical mitigation.
Benefits:
Accurately identifies single-instruction injections in clean or moderately noisy (0dB) environments. Maintains high anomaly detection accuracy even under loud environments with high sampling rates. Utilizes SVD-based noise elimination techniques to improve detection accuracy drastically. Provides high-fidelity recognition of anomalous activity in noisy environments...
