The subject of the procurement is technical assistance for the procurement and implementation of the Alliance contract for the design and construction of the Lowland Railway in the Republic of Croatia. Railway line M202 Zagreb GK - Rijeka is one of the main (corridor) railways located on koridoru RH2, a time i na Mediteranskom transeuropskom željezničkom koridoru i na ogranku teretnog koridora Rail Freight Corridor RFC 6 na sveobuhvatnoj TEN-T mreži. By amending the Regulation on the TEN-T network from 2024, Croatia positioned itself on two additional corridors: Baltic Sea - Adriatic Sea and Western Balkans - Eastern Mediterranean. Thus, the railway corridor RH2 and the Port of Rijeka have gained additional importance, and it is necessary to remove the traffic "bottlenecks" as soon as possible, that is, to ensure a greater throughput capacity of the railway line Zagreb Central Station - Rijeka by building a new two-track electrified railway that will enable a designed speed of 160 km/h for passenger trains and 120 km/h for freight trains.
