Context/BackgroundByron Shire Council (the Council) has received financial support from the State Floodplain Management program, managed by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, to undertake the update of the Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan (FRMSP) for Belongil Creek and Tallow Creek catchments. A comprehensive briefing is detailed in the Technical Specification (Attachment A)Objectives The objective of this project is to review and update the existing Flood Study and Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan for each of the subject catchments, to determine an up-to-date flood risk profile for the catchments and utilise these findings to develop a prioritised suite of flood risk management measures (including structural, non-structural, and natural solutions) to address current, future, and residual flood risks.
