The AN/ARM-135 Intermediate TACAN Test Set requires both the ACT-1400A-2 and the T-1401-2 toperform intermediate testing and repair of the TACAN receiver-transmitter and the TACAN Analog-to-Digital Adapter.The Viavi / Aeroflex ATC-1400A-2 is a Transponder/DME microprocessor based bench tester developedfor comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of ATC (Air Traffic Control) / Transponder equipment andDME (Distance Measuring Equipment). The control settings on the T-1401-2 front panel determine the mode of operation.Selecting Ground-to-Air (G/A) Mode enables the Identification and Equalizer pulse pairs. The ATC-1400A-2 also sends mode information when connected to the T-1401-2 through the Aeroflex Bus.
