Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue a solicitation, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15, under full and open competition in the first quarter of FY24 for the detail design and construction (DD&C) of Medium Landing Ship (LSM). The LSM program is managed by the Amphibious, Assault and Connectors Program Office, PMS 317. LSM is a new class of beaching amphibious ship that is built for shore-to-shore movement, maneuver, and logistics support in austere environments. LSM fills a gap in capability between the U.S. Navy-s globally deployable, long-duration, multipurpose amphibious warfare ships and smaller complementary landing craft. LSM will provide protected maneuver and mobility of platoon-sized units from shore-to-shore in a contested operational environment.
The LSM DD&C Solicitation will provide for Detail Design and Construction of up to six (6) ships, special studies for engineering and industrial support, life cycle engineering, post-delivery planning and support, lead yard services support technical data package, and provisioned item orders. All technical requirements, including the LSM System Specification and other Government Furnished Information, will be contained within the solicitation. LSM must be constructed in a United States shipyard. Each offeror may submit only one proposal as a Prime Contractor. The Prime Contractor must be a U.S. Shipyard.
