Description
This procurement No 8454 supersedes No 8334. PIN issued under 8334 DFID is seeking to procure a Supplier to effectively manage and deliver Component 4 of the Sustaining Action on Nutrition (SAN) Programme, the ‘Food Systems for Nutrition Partnership- (FSNP). This initiative (hereinafter also referred to as the Project) focuses on working with and fostering partnerships across global and local food systems to support better nutrition. It intends to help improve access to safe, nutritious diets for poor people (especially women, adolescent girls and children under five) in developing countries by: (i) enhancing businesses- ability to invest in low-income markets for nutritious foods; and (ii) enhancing the ability of developing country governments, DFID and other actors to support and incentivise investments in nutrition-smart food systems. The Supplier will be expected to achieve this objective by: (i) Delivering knowledge products and services to business, investors and government (ii) Providing technical assistance to DFID advisers and programmes (iii) Facilitating investment partnerships (business to business or linkages between business and investors or other partners) (iv) Coordinating linkages with other parts of the SAN Programme It is an adaptive programme which will require testing out which activities, approaches and deliverables within the defined Scope of Work are effective in achieving objectives and making changes based on demand, need and lessons learned. The Project has the option, in agreement with DFID, to scale up what works well, scale back or discontinue what proves ineffective. While the overall SAN Programme runs from May 2018 to April 2022, the Food Systems for Nutrition Partnership is expected to begin implementation in May 2019 and end in April 2022 with an option to extend, at DFID-s sole discretion, funding and timelines beyond April 2022.
