The Finnish economic zone is an international marine area that the Finnish state is entitled to economic utilization. According to the Law on Maritime Winds in the Economic Zone (937/2024, the Maritime Winds Act), the Government may choose from from the economic zone for sea wind power use areas and make a decision to compete for them. The tendering of the regions is organized by the Energy Agency.
