Purpose and background of the procurement The purpose of the procurement is an expert service, whose task is to prepare a baseline report on the use of recycled water produced from municipal wastewater in various industries and municipal operations in Finland, Estonia, Europe in the Union and the world. The aim of the report is to form a comprehensive picture of the current uses of recycled water and to assess the conditions for data collection and development opportunities. The report must be in English, and it will be summaries in English and Finnish. The goal of the SIWat project is to promote the use of reclaimed water in industry and municipal applications as part of sustainable water management. In the project's pilot operation, recycled water made from municipal wastewater is tested use for industrial and municipal needs. The evaluation supports the planning and implementation of pilots, stakeholder cooperation and the sharing of information to project partners, industrial end users, wastewater treatment plants, water sector operators, for authorities and decision makers.2). Content and outputs of the review The review must include: • Mapping of the current situation: an overview of the use of reclaimed water in different industries. The goal is to get a deep understanding of how widely, for what purposes and what quality of recycled water produced from municipal wastewater is used in industry and municipal functions in the EU, Finland, Estonia and the world.
