Tender Details

The objective of this assignment is to support ESMAP in its efforts to strengthen country-level capacity and mobilize solutions for unlocking private finance for clean energy transitions as part of its work under the Global Clean Power Alliance (GCPA) finance mission. This entails enhancing the finance-readiness of existing or emerging energy country platforms and deploying private finance and related expertise to address barriers to clean energy transition project development. This assignment will support ESMAP in providing coordinated, targeted, and tailored technical assistance to GCPA partner countries, with the goal of enhancing the investability of clean energy project pipelines. Currently, the GCPA partner countries include Colombia, Mozambique, Morocco, Tanzania, Chile (as a knowledge provider), Caribbean countries, and the African Union Commission. As a result of the support, a small number of priority projects per country, which have the potential to progress toward project development with private investment, including innovative financing structures and sources, are to be identified for specific further support. In addition, the consultancy will contribute to strategic support to stakeholder engagement, i.e., knowledge exchange, peer learning, and strategic collaboration on successes, challenges, and new investment opportunities.
