Tenders are invited for Supporting Can Tho LCC activities
Objective: Can Tho City; with its agrarian backbone; presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities. This task will include a context analysis to confirm understanding the city's agricultural landscape and its GHG emissions. Based on this context analysis; potential carbon reduction methodologies will be identified and tailored to enhance sustainable agricultural practices and reduce Can Tho City-s carbon footprint. Also; deliver technical support to Can Tho to establish a carbon crediting mechanism and support to HCMC to operationalize their scheme QUALIFICATIONSThe assignment must be delivered by a qualified Firm with expertise and experience in climate change and carbon finance policy and practice. The Firm must demonstrate:*Knowledge and capacity to develop carbon credit projects in Vietnam and other priority markets in Asia; specifically projects involving decentralized renewable energy and energy efficient technologies. The consultant should be knowledgeable of international and country-specific policies and best practices for carbon project development; and compliance and voluntary carbon markets;*Experience of performing the role of a coordinating and managing entity for programmatic activities; *Knowledge of carbon credit certification standards such as Gold Standard and Verra; their rules and guidelines; and relevant ex-post monitoring methodologies; *Experience in supporting the engagement with relevant stakeholders in Vietnam and other Asian markets concerning climate and carbon finance; *Strong ability to synthesize and communicate complex information in clear and concise terms to a range of stakeholders; including project managers; registries; and local government officials; and*Understanding of the policy and regulatory landscape for carbon finance; and ability to provide technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders.
