The MC2 has a large fleet of traditional stage lighting equipment (1, 500 sources) and plans its transition to LED technologies through energy optimization and in the face of the disappearance of existing halogen sources condemned in the medium term by the European regulation relating to ecodesign requirements. LED lighting technologies have special requirements for their power supply characteristics. As such and before investing in technologies LED lighting, the MC2 implemented the necessary prerequisites in 2024 through 2 work operations: the deployment of a stage network which interconnects all the spaces of the MC2 in a star around a core network and the replacement of dimmer cabinets in the 4 theaters. The MC2 then made the first investment in LED sources in 2025 and will follow the same trajectory in 2026.
