For the supply and delivery of approximately 90, 000 kilograms (30, 000 kg per year) of Sodium Silicofluoride / Fluorosilicate to the City of Saskatoon Water Treatment Plant on "as required" basis from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2028. Sodium Silicofluoride / Fluorosilicate is a granular chemical mixed with domestic water at the Water Treatment Plant to produce a fluoride solution that is added to the domestic water. The fluoride added to the domestic water is used to increase the natural levels of fluoride from the South Saskatchewan River. Fluoride has been recommended by the Canadian Dental Association as an effective protection against tooth decay. This contract for Sodium Silicofluoride / Fluorosilicate is required in order to maintain the level of service for safe drinking water that is currently provided and is required in order to meet the Permit to Operate that is regulated by the Water Security Agency.
