The Town of Amherst is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide all labour, materials, equipment, engineering, permits, supervision, testing, commissioning, training, documentation, warranty, and related services necessary to remove the existing emergency backup generator system at the Amherst Fire Station and supply, install, and fully commission a new automatic standby generator system. The completed system shall be capable of supporting the entire Amherst Fire Station during utility power interruptions and shall provide reliable, automatic, and code-compliant emergency power protection for all fire station operations. The existing generator system has been in service since the 1970s and has reached the end of its useful life. 1.1.1 SITE VISIT A mandatory site visit is scheduled for 11:00am Thursday September 3rd, 2026.
