Tenders are sought for the supply, installation, and commissioning of a laser diffraction-based particle size analyser for use in the Sedimentology Laboratory, Department of Geography, University College Cork (UCC). The instrument must be capable of analysing a broad range of particle sizes (from sub-micron to millimetre scale) in both wet and dry modes. It will support high-resolution granulometric analysis of sediments from fluvial, lacustrine, estuarine, and marine environments. The analyser will be a critical component of UCC's research infrastructure, supporting teaching and research in sedimentology, soil science, and geomorphology. The system should include interchangeable wet and dry dispersion units, automated alignment and calibration, and software compliant with ISO 13320 standards. A full installation and training package must be provided, along with a comprehensive warranty and after-sales support plan. The successful supplier will demonstrate proven experience in delivering and supporting similar systems in academic research environments.
