This RFQ pertains to the design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of 3 radiation hard quadrupoles, to replace the current triplet magnets in BL1A. These magnets are located near a target station and thus need to be made with very radiation resistant construction.TRIUMF is requiring the coil to be made from Minerally-Insulated conductor. The cross-section is to be solid and indirectly cooled using stainless steel tubing. The final coil assembly will be potted in lead-tin solder for mechanical rigidity and thermal conduction. Two magnets will be made to identical specifications. The third magnet requires a higher integrated gradient and longer effective length. The magnets will also be wired to accommodate either horizontal or vertical steering.Time is of the essence for this project and thus proposals with shorter proposed timelines are most desirable.
