Tender Details

The task:

- The Danish Nature Agency must have carried out a task regarding gentle harvesting of biomass with special machines on soft lowland areas in N0rreadalen in the years 2024 and 2025.

-

The task includes harvesting and breaking down meadow plants so that it becomes a biomass that can be used in a biogas plant. The biomass must ois collected and transported to truck-safe roads and places where it is unloaded. Harvesting is done on moist, soft meadows, where ordinary agricultural machines will get stuck and destroy the soil. Only special machines with a low field pressure are therefore able to carry out the task. This particular type of harvesthas been carried out by the Nature Agency with special machines since 2014.

-

The harvest must take place in the period mid. July to mid-September.

-

The harvest area is 228.71 ha. A map of the areas appears in Appendix 1.1.

-

For a further description and requirements for the tendered task, refer to the requirements specificationication Appendix 1.

-

Background:

-

The State Climate Lowland Project Kvorning aims to set aside and extensively operate agricultural land on carbon-rich lowland soils in N0rreadalen, restore the natural hydrology and create coherence between the natural areas within the N2000 area.

-

PThe project ensures the greatest possible reduction in C02 emissions from the low-lying soils and nitrogen conversion of added nitrogen from the catchment area.

-

With the realization of the project, there will also be a reduced release of nutrients to the Randers Fjord watershed, which according to the watershed plan has a need for action...
