Tenders are invited for Supply and Installation of Power Supply, Uninterruptable for Expansion of United Christian Hospital, Kowloon East Cluster, Hospital Authority
services and builder-s works which are deemed
necessary by the end user and for proper installation,
commission and subsequent operation of the
equipment on offer and the cost is considered to be
covered in the tender sum.
All the building services installation and builder's
works by the Tenderer shall in compliance with
statutory requirement, and the Tenderer shall be
responsible for the relevant submission, if any. The
Tenderer shall furnish the related licenses, certificates
and approved drawing submission to Hospital for
record after Testing and Commissioning (T&C).

C 3.6 The Tenderer shall work in collaboration with the
Main Contractor to provide sufficient information on
the builder-s work and building service provisions for
the installation of the equipment.

C 3.7 The successful Tenderer shall be responsible for the
handover of the builder-s works and building services
installations to the Hospital Authority or his
representatives at the completion of the installation
works and after the completion of the defect liability
period.

C 3.8 In case of any discrepancies or inconsistencies
between the site requirement in Composite Drawing
and site requirement stated in this specification, the
requirement in Composite Drawing shall prevail.

C 4 Compliance to Statutory Requirements,
Builder and Building Services Requirement
C 4.1 The successful Tenderer shall comply all statutory
requirements which included but not be limited to the
following:

C 4.2 Electrical works done by the successful Tenderer shall
be carried out by Registered Electrical Workers(REW)
of the appropriate grades, and the corresponding
original completion certificates on the installation shall
be signed by the REWs and send to Hospital for
retention, in accordance with the current legislation.
All other works shall also be done by certified or
registered workers/ contractors and in the manners as
required by the corresponding regulation as relevant.
The successful Tenderer shall provide the related
installation details/ specification to the Contractor-s
REA upon request to enable the compliance of
Building Energy Efficiency Ordinance(BEEO).
All building services works including conduits,
junction boxes, cables and pipe works, etc. shall be
concealed and no surface mounting will be permitted
unless otherwise so agreed. These works shall be
deemed to have been included and allowed for by the
Tenderer in the returned Tender sum.

C 4.4 All materials and workmanship shall comply with
latest editions of General Specification For Electrical
Installation in Government Building of HKSAR, other
relevant General Specification by Building Services
Branch of ArchSD, Code of Practice for Electricity
(Wiring) Regulations by the Electrical & Mechanical
Services Department and Supply Rules of the
Electrical Supply Authority as relevant, the latest
editions of General Specification for Air-conditioning,
Refrigeration, Ventilation and Central Monitoring and
Control System Installation in Government Buildings
of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and
shall be approved by the Hospital prior to the
installation.

C 4.5 All builder-s works carried out by the successful
Tenderer and/ or its contractor(s) shall meet the
minimum standards set out in “General Specification
for Building 2017 Edition”, or latest version, issued
by ArchSD.

C 4.6 All builder-s works and structural work shall be
supervised by authorized person and/ or Registered
Structural Engineer as per requirement under Building
Ordinance appointed by the successful Tenderer. The
Authorized person and/ or Registered Structural
Engineer shall also be responsible to arrange all
relevant statutory submissions.

C 4.7 All works shall comply with Building Ordinance
Cap.123, Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance
Cap. 509 of Hong Kong Law and other related
Legislations.

C 4.8 Fire services installations shall comply with the latest
edition of Code of Practice for Minimum Fire
Services Installations and Equipment, Inspection and
Testing of installations and Equipment, FSD circular
No.4/96 (if applicable) and prevailing FS circular
letters and the standard set by the Loss Prevention
Council.
The fire safety standard NFPA855/UL9540A shall be
complied for Lithium battery.
C 4.9 All drawings and calculations shall be endorsed and
submitted by an authorized person and/ or Registered
Structural Engineer under Buildings Ordinance
appointed by the successful Tenderer.

C 4.10 All builder-s works and building services provisions
shall be subject to an acceptance test conducted by the
Hospital Authority representative after installation has
been completed by the Tenderer.

D Part D Other Requirement
D 1 Insurance
The Tenderer shall arrange insurance coverage they
think right and appropriate to cover any liability for
personal injury, loss of life, damages to the equipment
during the period of delivery, storage, installation,
testing and commissioning etc. The Tenderer shall
provide their own temporary protection for their works
before hand-over of the works to the Hospital.

D 2 Infection Control
The Hospital Authority has drawn up an infection
control compliance checklist as a risk management
programme for the Contractor to safeguard the safety
and health of the Contractor. The Tenderer shall
indicate in Appendix IV their compliance of the
infection control measures in this tender.

D 3 Post-warranty Maintenance
D 3.1 Tenderers shall quote as an essential part of the offer
a yearly warranty maintenance service proposal for an
equipment lifespan up to at least 10 years at Schedule
A. The number of preventive maintenance services to
be provided annually shall be the same as that
specified for warranty maintenanc
