Expression of Interest are invited for Supply and Installation of Beds, Electric, Birthing for Kwong Wah Hospital, Kowloon Central Cluster, Hospital Authority.

1 General Requirements
1.1 This tender calls for the supply and installation of 21 sets of Beds, Electric, Birthing for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) under the Redevelopment Project of Kwong Wah Hospital (KWH) (Phase 1). (M)
1.2 It shall be provided one set electronically motorized delivery birthing bed with electric back-up system and divided into three sections, namely, fowler section, seat section and foot section, which can be individually motorized. (M)
2 General Specifications (M)
2.1 It shall have battery backup function, even when the bed is unplugged, bed controls continue to function, facilitating positioning and control during emergency transport. (M)
2.2 When the bed is unplugged, the battery backs up all bed functions. This standard eliminates any need for a manual crank. All bed functions are available during emergency transport or when adjusting bed to OR table when transferring a patient to the OR room for emergency caesarean section. (M)
2.3 It can minimum patient handling when transferred to OR room in any position, thus eliminates fumbling with emergency crank handles, searching for electrical outlets or just painful lifting of patient. Protect caregiver back injury. (M)
2.4 During delivery, practically it is impossible for the nurse to elevate the bed because of the weighting, so battery backup is a must. (M)
2.5 The bed's design should be lightweight which (less than 235 kg) contributes to improved maneuverability during patient transport and OSH concerns. (M)
2.6 There shall have an easy glide calf support permanently attached to the delivery bed to eliminate misplaced components. (M)
2.7 The side rails of the delivery' birthing bed shall offer easy operation to raise and lower. (M)
2.8 The built in one step foot supports of the delivery birthing bed shall provide quick, intuitive positioning and improved patient comfort. (M)
2.9 Automatic illumination providing a focal point of the floor and foot exit area. (M)
2.10 One step Trend like mechanism may be operated during transport. (M)
2.11 There shall have integrated and storable labor grips underneath the delivery bed. The handles are covered with a non-porous, fluid resistant foam that is comfortable for mothers to squeeze. (M)
2.12 There shall have an automatic tilt up of the seat section to 15 degree to prevent patient sliding forward when the head/ back section is raised, and avoid unnecessary help/movement to relocate the patient. As the head section is lowered, the seat section gradually returns to a flat position. (M)
2.13 There shall have a battery backup indicator located on the side rail to indicate the battery condition. (M)
2.14 There shall have a bed up and bed down controls located on both side rails allows to raise or lower the bed to 49.5cm +/- 10%. (M)
2.15 There shall have a foot up and foot down controls located on the side rails to allow' the foot section of the bed 12.7cm +/- 10% of travel from its lowest position. (M)
2.16 T here shall have a head up and head down control located on both side rails enable to raise or low er the head section of the bed. The head section can be raised to any angle of inclination (M)

13 Equipment Safety
13.1 Equipment offered shall comply with the safety requirements of IEC60601-1 / 1EC61010-1 or equivalent' (M)
13.2 Equipment offered shall comply with the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements of IEC 60601-1-2 / IEC 61326-1 or equivalent. (M)
13.3 Equipment offered shall comply with the basic safety' and essential performance of medical beds requirements of IEC 60601-2-52 or equivalent. (M)
14 Power Supply
14.1 The equipment shall remain o fie rational and within specification throughout the voltage range of 220V+/-6%. 50Hz+/-2%, 1-phase A.C. electrical supply. (M)
14.1.1 Single phase mains operated equipment shall be fitted with a power plug suitable for the site condition. The plug shall comply with relevant standards e.g. BS1363 for 13A Plugs. (M)
14.1.2 The supplier must state the mains amperage requirement needed for full operation of equipment of offer (M)
14.1.3 The supplier shall undertake to provide and install the power supply equipment such as switch gear, protection devices, voltage stabilizers, line filters etc., which are required to ensure the equipment on offer work safely and satisfactorily. (M)
14.1.4 The Contractor shall supply Hospital Authority (I IA) with medical equipment with international directive of Rohs, WF.EE, etc. in restriction and control of heavy metal contents, disposition and recyclable options wherever possible, for HA consideration. Detailed information, if any. shall be provided during tender submission. (D)
