Description : TERMS OF REFERENCE
Supply and Delivery of Food for YEP BYOB 2025
I. BACKGROUND
The Philippine Statistics Authority reported in 2020 that 28.9 percent (28.90/o) of the household population is composed of the youth ages 15-30 years old. By 2025, a portion of these shall reach working age. Yet, among the working youth, 21o/o live in moderate and extreme poverty.
As a strategy to alleviate poverty, entrepreneurship is being advocated as an alternative career path for the youth by DTI and MSMED Council as mandated by RA 10679 otherwise known as the "Youth Entrepreneurship Act". lt is also supported by RA 10M4 otherwise known as the "Go Negosyo Act. DTI implemented the Youth Entrepreneurship Program in all regions segmented into three: Youth Start, Youth Net, and Youth Match.
DTl established a partnership with USAID Opportunity 2.0 to further the efforts in youth entrepreneurship advocacy and created an enhanced modular learning curriculum for the youth which can be taught in 3-4 consecutive days. The curriculum aims to develop the necessary soft skills of new youth entrepreneurs.
