In pursuing the directive of our President to help the country-s base of the pyramid, DTI develops the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) Program. Republic Act No. 7160 also known as the Local Government Code of 1991 provides for the role of barangays in attaining national development through serving as the primary planning and implementing unit of policies, plans, programs, projects, and activities in the community. The efforts of DTI and services of other government agencies could be extended to more Filipinos through the barangays.
The Department-s NSB Program lies within the purview of whole government approach wherein public agencies related to supporting inclusive business ecosystem work across portfolio boundaries and mandate to encourage entrepreneurial activities and integrated government assistance.
