Description : To address the challenges of abaca farmers receiving low farm gate prices due to dependence in middlemen, fragmented production, limited market access, and inadequate post harvest facilities, the Provincial Government of Catanduanes proposes the implementation of the Abaca-Based Community Advancement (ABACA) Program. The program establishes a sustainable provincial buying hub to purchase quality abaca fibers directly from registered farmers at fair and competitive prices. These raw materials will be transformed to a value adding handicraft products as a livelihood program for our local farmers.
