Abstract: To deliver a Specialist Stop Smoking Service (SSSS) across Sunderland. The provision of high quality stop smoking services is a key priority in improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities among local populations.Stop smoking services sit within a national and local tobacco control plan and form a crucial part of wider action to reduce smoking prevalence in Sunderland. The SSSS will provide a single point of access in Sunderland to:— smokers who met the inclusion criteria, — Universal NHS stop smoking services such as pharmacies and general practices, — Self-support for those who want to stop but do not want professional help. The SSSS will focus on specified high risk populations and high prevalence geographical localities and will work with key partners across the health and social care system to maximise opportunities to support local people to stop smoking.
